This course will help build a better understanding of what your clients need to know about life and health insurance. Explaining the benefits of having the proper life and health insurance is key to the financial wellbeing of your clients’ families and businesses.

Be better prepared to answer questions about analyzing the need for and placement of life insurance. Health insurance includes a diverse assortment of policies, from medical expense coverage to vision care and dental coverage, plus a variety of delivery systems and health plans designed to manage the high cost of care.

Topics Include: Introduction to Life Insurance, Term and Permanent Life Insurance, Common Characteristics of Life Insurance Concepts, Healthcare Policies, Federal Regulation and Consumer-Driven Health Plans, Medicare

**Exam is NOT required for CE credit.**

The virtual classes will count for both state CE and designation credit. The exam requirements remain the same and the exam is only required for those pursuing a new designation.
For those taking the exam, you will do so online. The exam window will be open beginning at 4:15 p.m. the day of the class through Thursday at 11:59 p.m. CST the week following the class. Specific instructions on the exam including proctoring of the exam, and completion information will be distributed during the course.

Angela Surra is the Principal Benefits Expert at Mineral, part of Mitratech. Having earned her CISR designation in 1999 and her CIC designation in 2007, Angie serves as a faculty member for The Risk and Insurance Education Alliance.

Angie began her insurance career in 1997 with St. Marys Insurance Agency in Pennsylvania. Her experience includes 18 years as an insurance agent and general manager of an independent insurance agency, seven years with Navigate HCR and currently at Mineral supporting employers and the benefits broker community on benefits compliance strategies and technology. She is a long-time member and past chairwoman of the board of Health Agents for America and is a national speaker and educator teaching insurance agents and human resources professionals.

Angie has been educating insurance professionals for over 10 years on a national level. She has lobbied on behalf of insurance agents in Washington D.C. and is considered an expert in her field of benefits compliance and strategy. Angie is on the speaker’s bureau of the National Association of Health Underwriters and has been quoted and featured in a variety of national publications.

Her experience in insurance and compliance gives Angie a strategic approach for today’s insurance professionals.
