This course is designed to help insurance professionals with defining ethics and understanding the history of ethical study. It will also help agents understand what Ethics isn’t; understand the purpose of developing a Code of Ethics; show how we can demonstrate our commitment to ethics to others; identify red flags in ethically questionable situations; how should we react (vs. will we react) when faced with an ethical dilemma; and understand how Ethics relates to service

Brett Gerger, CIC
Brett Gerger is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Big I Illinois. He previously served the organization as Director of Education and Agency Resources.

As CEO, Gerger provides overall leadership for the association, including organizational management, strategic planning, business development, fundraising, budget and finance oversight, public relations, and coordination between the Board of Directors and association staff.

Gerger began his 24-year career at the Illinois Department of Insurance in the Producer Regulatory Division. He later served as Chief Deputy Director of Product Lines and Licensing, where he was responsible for management of the Property & Casualty, Life & Annuity, Health, Producer Regulatory, and Licensing Units.

He also served as the State of Illinois Group Insurance Division Manager with the Illinois Department of Central Management Services. In that role, Gerger oversaw the planning and implementation of policy and operations for the state’s insurance programs, including property, liability, and benefits.
